Rangers have set their demands for a future sale of Rabbi Matondo and will allow the forward to leave on loan this month, according to Rangers News.

The Gers site reported on Monday (13 January) that the club are finally willing to sanction a loan exit for Matondo, who has struggled with injuries this season, but want at least £2million in the summer from a subsequent sale.

As of the report, Serie A duo Torino and Lecce are both interested in Matondo, whose last goals for the Light Blues came in a sublime performance against Ross County as he netted a brace plus two assists in the 6-0 win at Hampden Park on 24 August.

Rangers set to loan out Rabbi Matondo

With Matondo garnering European interest, it could be reasonable for Rangers to arrange a loan until the end of the season with an obligation to buy for their commanded price.

The 24-year-old is a talented operator but is unable to tie down a regular spot in Philippe Clement's side, suffering similar fate to Cyriel Dessers who could join him in Italy this month.

Matondo is a Welsh international and will want to remain in his national reckoning, meaning regular top-flight football is a prerequisite.

Rangers can concentrate on selling players surplus to requirements in the summer, but could be dealt a tidy favour this month if an established club can take on the burden of his wages until that time.

Former Manchester City product Matondo is under contract at Ibrox until 2026, meaning a fee will still be achievable at the end of the campaign, even if not huge.
