Rangers can secure a move for Liverpool star Owen Beck this summer.

Russell Martin is looking for fresh impetus after being appointed in Govan to improve on a dismal campaign last time out.

The 22-year-old left-back starred on loan at Blackburn Rovers last season before an injury cut his season short in March, and could be a solid option for the Ibrox outfit.

Liverpool to let Beck leave amid Rangers interest

The Premier League champions have just signed Milos Kerkez and also have Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas in their ranks in Beck's position.

As a result, they are reportedly willing to sanction a loan deal for the Welshman, and Rangers could take advantage and sign Beck.

Iconic commentator Ian Darke believes that Beck would thrive in Scottish football with the Gers, and that the path is open for a potential deal.

Speaking to Liverpool News (29 June), he said: “He is quite a good prospect but you don’t really see him getting into the Liverpool first-team, do you, now they have bought Kerkez, I know Robertson is on his way.

“I don’t think he is anywhere near the first team, although if they had a couple of injuries, it might come down to him.

“I think he is a good young player, but there is a difference between good young players and players who are going to be playing in a top four team, and I don’t honestly think he would do.

“Yes (he would be good enough for Rangers), that is a different kettle of fish altogether.

“I think he would be quite a good addition for them, he is pretty direct with the ball, he runs at defences down that left side and he has got a trick or two as well, he might be a useful addition for Rangers.

“But I don’t think he is going to get in Liverpool’s team”

Rangers can seal Beck deal after Liverpool update

Ridvan Yilmaz continues to be linked with a Rangers exit, which would leave a huge hole in the squad, with only Jefte remaining as a potential starter in Martin's squad.

If he departs, with a return to Turkey understood to be the most likely move, the Light Blues would need depth in the position, and Beck could be a perfect option for the G51 side.

The young defender already has experience in Scotland, having featured 30 times for Dundee in the 2023-24 campaign.

A loan deal makes sense for the Gers, as the Reds will want him to play at a high level to see whether he is ready to be a first-team option in the future, and the Auchenhowie side can offer European football.

The 49ers Enterprises group and Andrew Cavenagh will be keen to get value for their money in the market, and a temporary switch for the Reds ace would be a smart move to bolster the squad and leave money to strengthen other areas.

If Slot and Co do not deem him good enough to make an impact at Anfield after a loan in Govan, the Bears could then sign him permanently.
