Nedim Bajrami, Ross McCausland and Clinton Nsiala are probably in Spain just to make up the numbers for Rangers.

The Albania international, Northern Irish ace and French youngster were included in the travelling squad for their pre-season away from Govan.

Danilo and John Souttar have been left out of the squad, with both expected to leave the Light Blues in the coming weeks.

Bajrami, McCausland and Nsiala may have thought they would have an opportunity to convince Derek McInnes ahead of next season, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

The Scottish manager appears to be in a race against time to rebuild his squad as much as possible before the opening competitive game of the 2026-27 campaign against Dundee United on 31 July.

With the Glaswegian outfit already bringing six fresh faces into the team, they will surely have to focus on a few departures soon.

Derek McInnes makes fresh Rangers transfer admission

Bajrami, McCausland and Nsiala are part of the Rangers' bomb squad this summer, along with Danilo and Jose Cifuentes.

The trio must have thought they would get an opportunity to redeem themselves under the new manager after being included in the pre-season plans.

Despite the three players travelling to Spain, it looks like McInnes has already hinted that they could potentially be on their way out soon.

The Scottish manager expects multiple additions at Ibrox before the end of the window, but has admitted players will need to be sold first.

Rangers are not done yet and McInnes clearly expects more new signings to arrive soon.

There's no doubt the Gers needed to make changes after a disappointing 2025-26 campaign, but Andrew Cavenagh looks ready to invest in another rebuild after last summer.

Speaking via the Daily Record from Spain on 12 July, McInnes said, "So probably still a good bit of work to do without putting a number on it."

On top of the six signings already made at the Light Blues, it wouldn't be surprising to see the number double.

Last summer, the Govan side made 12 new signings and it may be the same this time around.

Inevitably, that should lead to several exits.
