Ivor Pandur's Rangers contract examined: Wages, duration and amortisation
Ivor Pandur has made an impressive start to life at Rangers.
The Croatian was a surprise addition at Ibrox after his move from Hull City.
It was a shock to see him depart the Tigers after he played such a key role in getting them promoted to the Premier League.
His glory in the Championship play-off final was cut-short as a swap deal with Jack Butland was arranged.
It always looked to be a deal that benefited the Gers, and it has turned out that way.
Pandur has proven to be a top signing in G51 as we now assess what we know about his Rangers contract.
What is Ivor Pandur's Rangers wage?
The 26-year-old had been a target for the Light Blues long before his move.
Before his 2024 switch to Hull, he was looked at as a potential goalkeeper signing in Govan.
A deal never happened, but it eventually did several years later.
The Croatian has been worth the wait as he continues to prove his worth in between the sticks for Derek McInnes.
That makes his £15,000-per-week wage look like money well spent.
It even feels that way when you consider he is being paid a yearly salary in the region of £780,000 across a four-year deal.
That still feels like a snip, especially when his transfer fee is taken into account.
How much are Rangers paying for Pandur per year?
The fact that his current deal lasts until 2030 will be music to the ears of everyone at Ibrox.
That allows them to spread his transfer cost, something which will help the Light Blues manage with bigger spending.
Pandur completed a move to Govan for a reported £6million, which will equate to approximately £1.5m-per-year in amortisation.
That, combined with his yearly wage, clocks in at around £2.28m.
Should his early season performances continue throughout the season and for many to come, the keeper will prove to be worth every penny of that.
Having witnessed the struggles of Butland in between the sticks, the Croatian has proven to be a breath of fresh air
It would take something sizable to go wrong for him to not be seen as great value for money.
