How Rangers can steal a march on West Ham to complete Amario Cozier-Duberry signing

Rangers are hoping to add to their forward department with Amario Cozier-Duberry.

The Gers are quite light on the wings, following Andreas Skov Olsen and Mikey Moore's loans expiring after last season.

Derek McInnes has wasted no time in getting signings through the door at Ibrox, with five transfers confirmed since he made the switch from Tynecastle.

Most of those arrivals have been in the backline, but it looks like attentions are turning to further up the pitch.

Cozier-Duberry, who is currently playing for Brighton, has attracted plenty of interest elsewhere.

But, new information has Rangers set to try to move ahead in the race for the Englishman.

What is the latest on Rangers interest in Amario Cozier-Duberry

Rangers are one of a number of teams in pursuit of Cozier-Duberry, but are now looking to win that race.

According to journalist Simon Collings, who writes for The Sun, Rangers are looking to formalise their interest in the 21-year-old.

Ibrox News has previously covered Rangers targeting Cozier-Duberry but that now looks to be moving onto the next phase.

West Ham, Hull City, Paris FC and RB Salzburg are all said to be looking at the winger. While Anderlecht have already had a £5million bid rejected.

Thanks to Anderlecht's previous approach, it will take the Gers at least over that £5m range to sign him.

With interest set to be formalised now, it is a case of waiting to see what sort of offer the Gers put down on the table for the Brighton winger.

And, that offer will likely have to be more appealing than what his current club propose as they want him to stay at the AMEX Stadium.

Would Cozier-Duberry affect Rangers' potential move for Mikey Moore?

Wingers are needed at Ibrox and the Gers would ideally want Moore to return.

However, the Bears are still waiting to hear from Tottenham over their plans for the 18-year-old winger after pre-season.

Nonetheless, recent Tottenham developments have handed Rangers hope in signing Moore.

If Cozier-Duberry is signed, that would likely not affect any potential future approaches for Moore.

Last season, the Tottenham youngster played the majority of his games out on the left, while the Brighton starlet is more of a right-sided attacker.

So, Cozier-Duberry would be coming in to take the place of Skov Olsen in the squad rather than Moore.

And after Moore's performances for the Ibrox outfit, McInnes could use that as a negotiating tactic with the winger.

Cozier-Duberry could be shown the impact that the former loanee had in Glasgow, and that could help Rangers move further ahead of the pack and beat the likes of West Ham.
