Hamza Igamane being under contract at Rangers until 2029 means interested clubs will need to pull out the chequebook in January, according to Afrik Foot.

The football news outlet reported on 19 December that despite a plethora of clubs across England and Europe being interested in the 22-year-old, it won't be easy to pry him out of Ibrox next month.

Having only signed the Moroccan in the summer for £1.7million from FAR Rabat, the Bears are under no pressure to sell Igamane months after his arrival.

Hamza Igamane sale would make no sense for Rangers ambitions

Whilst collecting a hefty fee for Igamane would be a sign of the Gers' player trading model in working motion, selling one of their key players as soon as January could have an extremely damaging effect.

Igamane has shot up the pecking order to become a mainstay in Clement's side, with five goals in his last six games coinciding with a huge uptick in the Light Blues' form across recent weeks.

With Igamane on a huge upward trajectory and a key cog in a team finally showing signs of bridging the gap to Celtic at the top of the Premiership, selling the forward would be seen as a backward step.

Danilo's fitness is still not to be relied upon and Cyriel Dessers' own exit could be sanctioned after falling down the pecking order, making Igamane more crucial if Clement's side are to kick on in January.

The summer window could well be the time to cash in on Igamane – and net a healthy profit – if a deal works for the cash-strapped Gers, but for the time being, they must do all they can to keep hold of him.
