Everything Rangers fans need to know as Max Cameron loan exit confirmed
Max Cameron has departed Rangers on loan.
The 17-year-old forward is one of the most highly rated talents at Auchenhowie.
The winger had been attracting attention from the Premier League, but the Ibrox club swooped to secure terms with the starlet.
Ibrox News previously covered Cameron's contract extension with the Gers in July 2025.
The Scotland youth international played a part in the young Bears winning the Under-17 and Under-19 titles last season.
Now, he will take his first step into senior football, leaving the Light Blues on a temporary basis.
Where will Rangers gem Max Cameron spent next season on loan?
Cameron has followed a route that has been well travelled by the Gers' talents in recent years.
The Ibrox club confirmed that their co-operation agreement with Alloa Athletic had been extended on Monday.
Calum Adamson, Lewis Stewart and Josh Gentles were all sent to the Wasps last season, and Cameron has now done the same.
He will hope to break into the side at the Indodrill Stadium, and show Derek McInnes that he can be of use in the future.
Why Findlay Curtis provides the master plan for Cameron
Findlay Curtis has provided the blueprint to all academy stars hoping to make it in the senior side.
He spent the second half of last season on loan with Kilmarnock, where he notched five goals and earned a Scotland squad berth for the World Cup.
He is now firmly in McInnes' plans for the new campaign, and should get a chance to forge his way into the line-up.
Alloa is not the same level as that, but it shows that good performance away from Govan can be a springboard to greater things.
If Cameron impresses with his new loan side, then he will likely get a move to a club higher up the pyramid, and if he contributes then, he will be on the manager's radar.
He likely still has a long way to go, but playing well in League One should set him up for future success.
What has been said about Cameron at Rangers?
Senior figures in G51 clearly rate Cameron.
Interim Head of the Academy, David McCallum, commented on him after he signed fresh terms.
He said: “We are delighted to welcome Max into our full-time programme here at the Academy.
“He is a player who hasn’t been short of interest from elsewhere in recent months, but he is convinced that Rangers is the perfect environment to aid his progression both on and off the pitch as an individual.
"He has shown great potential throughout his time in the Academy, and we’re excited to see him make the step into a professional environment."
The only question is whether he can fulfil the potential.
