Rangers gem Coben Fergusson has committed his future to the club.

The prodigious winger, 16, has signed his first professional contract with the Ibrox outfit.

News of Fergusson's deal was announced by the club on Wednesday, with the exciting talent have risen through the youth teams at Rangers.

Fergusson has already been catching the eye at youth level, and will have designs on breaking into the first team in coming years.

Derek McInnes will no doubt be keeping an eye on his development now he is through the door at Ibrox.

How long is Coben Fergusson's contract at Rangers?

Rangers have been busy tying their youngsters to new deals this summer.

On Monday, it was confirmed that Luca Rankin has signed on for three more years at Ibrox.

The following day, it was announced Lewis Stewart has penned terms on another year, with an option for a further 12 months.

Fergusson has now agreed a deal that commits him to Ibrox until the summer of 2029.

The Bears have acted quick to ensure another talent will be secured at Ibrox for the foreseeable future.

What has been said about Fergusson's Rangers extension?

Rangers' interim head of academy David McCallum spoke of his delight that Fergusson has penned fresh terms.

Speaking to Rangers' official website, McCallum said: "“We are thrilled to see Coben commit his future to the club by signing his first professional contract.

“He has a fantastic attitude towards his development, is eager to learn and consistently demonstrates the desire to push himself every day.

“I’m sure this is a proud day for Coben and his family, and we're looking forward to supporting him as he continues to develop both as a player and as a person.”

McCallum's glowing review certainly bodes well, and Rangers fans will be keeping a keen eye on his development in the coming years.

What is Fergusson's story at Rangers so far?

Fergusson has been an excellent performer for Rangers in the youth ranks.

The winger played a starring role as Rangers' Under-17s were crowned champions in the 2025/26 season.

He has also represented the U-19s team, and scored his first goal at that level in a 5-1 victory over Dundee United in the penultimate game of last season.

Fergusson has also earned international recognition with Scotland's U-16s, and even got himself on the scoresheet against Cryprus.

What is next for Fergusson at Rangers?

Still only 16, there is a long way to go in Fergusson's development at Ibrox.

The immediate aim will be to see him continue to excel at youth level, and keep gaining experience in the younger age groups.

In the short-to-medium term, Rangers may look at potential loan moves for him, which might mean utilising one of the links they have with clubs further down the Scottish pyramid.

And, of course, the long-term aim for Fergusson will be to break into the first team and play in front of the Rangers faithful at Ibrox.
