Derek McInnes already has one Rangers solution amid Youssef Chermiti exit fear
Derek McInnes is facing one dilemma nice and early in his Rangers tenure.
Youssef Chermiti scored 15 Scottish Premiership goals last season after finding form following a slow start.
His perfomances have begun to draw admiring glances from elsewhere, with clubs across Europe tracking him.
Indeed, Ligue 1 outfit Lyon are said to be readying a bid as they look for more firepower following the end of Endrick's loan.
It means Rangers have to decide whether to stick or twist with on their most prized assets this summer.
If the Gers do decide to cash in, one solution may be staring McInnes in the face and yesterday proved it.
Rangers win again in behind-closed-doors friendly
Rangers are busy not only reshaping their squad this summer, but preparing for the new campaign in pre-season.
Preparations have started pretty well, too, with Rangers battering Raith Rovers 5-1 on Saturday.
And on Wednesday, the Gers had another behind-closed-doors outing at Auchenhowie, running out 3-1 victors over Dunfermline (Rangers Review).
Among the goalscorers was Bojan Miovski, whose own future at Ibrox is looking increasingly uncertain after he managed just seven league goals in his debut campaign.
But Miovski struggled playing in systems where possession dominated, first under Russell Martin and then under Danny Rohl.
McInnes has been operating a 4-4-1-1 in pre-season, with Miovski acting as the support striker.
Under the former Hearts boss, Miovski could definitely thrive in a more direct system, and thrive in a style where delivery from out wide will be crucial.
It would be tough to see Chermiti leave, but with Lawrence Shankland having now arrived there are options, and any cash raised could strengthen other areas of the squad.
There should be too much importance placed on behind-closed-doors friendlies, but Miovski has a great chance to stake a claim for a place.
What has Bojan Miovski said about his Rangers future?
There was a lot of hope that Miovski could be a hit in Rangers shirt.
He netted 16 Scottish Premiership goals in back-to-back campaigns for Aberdeen in 2022/23 and 2023/24 before departing for Girona.
There is no doubt that he has the pedigree to score goals in this league if utilised right, but he did not really suit the previous regime.
Miovski spoke about his own future at Rangers at the start of June, and expressed his desire to start more games.
He said: "You can't rule out anything (regarding his future), but I've got a three-year contract with Rangers and would definitely like to feature more prominently next season rather than sit on the bench.
"As I said, I'm a competitor and would like to play more."
