Calum Adamson basically confirms Rangers intentions with latest comments
The Scottish midfielder spent the 2025-26 campaign on loan with Alloa Athletic in League One.
There has been speculation around his future, with some reports claiming that Premier League clubs wanted to sign him.
However, he has suggested that he is happy to remain with the Govan outfit, still dreaming of making his debut for his boyhood club.
Rangers have taken steps to keep their most promising young stars in recent months and the 18-year-old sensation could be the next to agree fresh terms.
What has Adamson said about Rangers future?
Rangers talent Adamson is in demand, but he is keen to stay and fight for a first-team place at Ibrox, basically confirming his intentions.
In an interview with the Rangers Youth Development Company, he opened up on his desire for a senior debut with a new admission.
Speaking on 3 June, he said: “Making bench appearances for Rangers just topped it off for me.
“I didn’t manage to make my debut but being involved in matchday squads has made me even hungrier to play for the first-team.
“I want to take the next step, get on the pitch and wear that blue jersey. That would be a dream come true.”
Why Rohl has to trust in Adamson
The Gers were in a vulnerable position regarding the Scotland Under-19 international star.
His contract in Govan has another 12 months remaining on it, but if he is keen to stay, surely a deal will be reached.
That will be a big boost for all involved with the Auchenhowie academy, as Adamson is one of their most highly rated prospects.
The fact that the Gers will have been able to keep him, Josh Gentles, Kyle Glasgow and Ashton Scally away from the clutches of English clubs is a huge sign that they believe in the pathway under Danny Rohl.
Now, the manager needs to ensure that academy players are handed opportunities to shine and fulfil their potential, so they do not regret their decisions to stick around.
He wants to make a Scottish core of players who know what it means to play for the Gers, so, the academy should play a huge part in his plans going forward.
Adamson and his fellow youngsters should have increased chances in the first-team in the near future, given Rohl’s plans to revolutionise the squad.
The G51 side have neglected their youth for far too long, so it will refreshing for the supporters, if they are given a chance.
