Bailey Rice appears to be ready to sign a new contract at Rangers.

The 19-year-old has faced an uncertain future in Govan as his deal ticks down to it's expiry date.

There have been questions surrounding the midfielder and his potential exit at the end of the campaign.

He has been severely impacted by injuries that have ruled him out of a single matchday squad since early November.

Rice is now recovered from his knee issues and looks set to put pen to paper on fresh terms at Ibrox.

The midfielder may have been missing for many months of his early G51 career, but losing him would still be frustrating.

There have been surprise links away to the likes of Ajax, Schalke and Manchester United.

That calibre of side being interested proves that he could make an impact under Danny Rohl, despite being ruled out from doing so recently.

He has stepped up his recovery and is now back to full fitness ahead of pre-season, as revealed by NXT LEVEL on Instagram.

The Marbella-based coach has worked with the midfielder, sharing footage of him in training on the mission to get back to fitness.

Alongside the video, the caption reads: "After a season disrupted by injury, Bailey put the work in to finish the campaign fully fit.

"Working closely with the club’s head physio, we’ve made sure every box has been ticked throughout his return-to-play process.

"Now it’s about building capacity, maintaining momentum, and preparing for pre-season.

"Big year ahead mate."

That doesn't point towards an imminent departure, more so to a future in Govan moving into the new season.

Rice set to complete Rangers contract u-turn

There was once a time that it looked increasingly unlikely that the youngster would be moving on from G51.

Reports had initially suggested that Rice had turned down the chance to extend his current deal at Ibrox.

Things have changed more recently and news dropped in May that pointed towards new conversations going on.

It now appears that fresh terms are more likely than not at this stage, with the social media video enforcing those beliefs.

The midfielder is ready for pre-season and should he sign a new deal at Rangers, he is likely to play a part in Rohl's plans for the campaign.
