Rangers could be set to lose Danny Rohl.

The German took charge of the Govan club in October 2025 and has certainly overseen some highs and lows.

Fans immediately took to him as chants of his name rung around Ibrox and any away grounds.

Things have certainly turned sour in recent weeks after a terrible end to the season threw away any Scottish Premiership title chance.

That has sparked an uncertain future for the 37-year-old in G51, although he did look set to stick around.

Rohl could now be on his way out as a move to RB Salzburg could now be on the cards.

RB Salzburg want to appoint Danny Rohl as head coach

There may be some negativity surrounding the Gers boss right now, but he is still attracting interest.

He was always highly rated throughout his time at Sheffield Wednesday and has had some positive moments at Ibrox.

That has now prompted interest from the continent with a move away from Govan potentially in the pipeline.

Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg reported on Thursday that RB Salzburg are pushing to appoint Rohl as their new head coach.

The Austrian outfit and Rangers are now in direct contact as they look to find a solution.

The 37-year-old applied for a head coach position with the Red Bull group last season and has also worked for RB Leipzig before.

Rohl likely to green light Rangers exit for RB Salzburg move

Rohl hasn't even completed a full campaign at Ibrox and is attracting interest from elsewhere.

That speaks volumes of how the RB group rate him and that could prove to be too good to be turned down.

Rangers won't be helped by his previous ties to RB Leipzig and the fact that he applied for a head coach job with the energy drink giant previously.

Salzburg are set to play Europa League football next season and are always likely to be title contenders in the Austrian Bundesliga.

All that could see Rohl tell the Light Blues that he wants to take this opportunity and depart ahead of the new campaign.
