What Danny Rohl said when asked about Russell Martin in first Rangers press conference

Danny Rohl has an opportunity to do something very special at Rangers this season, but it's going to take a lot of work.

When it was announced that Rohl was going to be the Rangers head coach, there was much delight around Glasgow - although that was mainly at the fact this drawn-out search was at an end.

Rangers fans have suffered under Russell Martin and had to watch Steven Gerrard turn down a return to Ibrox.

Now with Rohl, the German coach can quickly make a positive start as head coach as Rangers face Brann in the Europa League on Thursday night.

In his first press conference for Rangers on Tuesday, Rohl had an interesting response to questions asked about Martin's time at the Gers.

Rohl faced the media at Ibrox on Tuesday and was asked about various different topics.

He expressed his delight to be at Ibrox, and takes the role with great pride, as he has acknowledged the task in front of him.

When asked about Martin's sacking and the stress the coach before him faced, Rohl seemed to have confidence in his ability to take the pressure on board.

Rohl said: "Pressure in this business is usual. Some guys will speak about my age, but in 16 years, I have been at different stages and have felt what it means to be a head coach.

"You start with winning games, you win games and then you play nice football."

Rohl's first game against Brann comes as a chance to hit the ground running, and if he does, Rangers could be in for a fantastic winter.

Rohl could build momentum for Premier Sports Cup semi-final vs Celtic

The fixtures come thick and fast for Rohl at Rangers and he won't have much time in between games to implement his style.

If he is able to pull off good results straight away, then it will only be even more impressive.

Most notably, Rangers face Celtic in an Old Firm derby that has added weight due to the game coming in the semi-final of the Premier Sports Cup.

Rohl has a massive opportunity to win the Rangers fans over very quickly, but it's going to be hard.

The young coach promises to be an exciting option for Rangers, and the future looks bright.
