Todd Cantwell posted on Instagram as Rangers secured the three points against Celtic at Parkhead on Sunday.

Despite not being on the club's books, the 27-year-old does hold an affinity for the Ibrox outfit and celebrated the Old Firm win.

Barry Ferguson's side secured a dramatic 3-2 win with Hamza Igamane scoring the winner.

Blackburn Rovers' Todd Cantwell shares Rangers post on his Instagram story

The Englishman had some moments of brilliance at Ibrox, but his stint at the club was relatively short-lived.

He moved to Glasgow in 2023 and by August 2024, he was on his way out with Philippe Clement not wanting him to stay.

Cantwell joined Blackburn on a three-year contract and has been a first-team regular for the Championship outfit.

He appeared to be delighted that his former side managed to beat their arch rivals at Celtic Park on Sunday.

Gers shared an image at full-time and Cantwell then re-shared it on his Instagram story.

Barry Ferguson's side must now capitalise on the win

The win for Gers is a pivotal moment that they must capitalize on to shift momentum in their season.

This result narrows the gap in the Scottish Premiership and boosts morale after a challenging period.

Building on this result is crucial to maintain fan belief, sustain pressure on their rivals and prove their resurgence is no fluke.

Consistency is key and Rangers cannot afford to let this high be followed by lapses, as has plagued them earlier this season.

To achieve this, they should focus on tactical discipline, as seen in their effective pressing and counterattacking against Celtic, while sharpening their clinical edge in front of goal.

Key players like Mohammed Diomande and Nico Raskin, who shone in the derby, must lead by example, and Ferguson should leverage squad depth with impactful substitutions to manage fatigue.

Upcoming matches, like against Hibs and Athletic Bilbao, offer a chance to string wins together, reinforcing belief and momentum.

By maintaining intensity and translating this confidence into results, Rangers can turn a statement win into a season-defining run.
