Norwich City midfielder Todd Cantwell is reportedly on his way to Glasgow to finalise the terms of his move and join Rangers.

According to the Scottish Daily Express [19 January], the soon-to-be out-of-contract midfielder, who's been a target at Ibrox, will be ending up in the SPFL.

Talk Norwich City podcast host Chris Reevo, who's been a reliable source for the Canaries, has claimed that an official announcement is nigh.

He wrote on Twitter, "I understand that Todd Cantwell’s transfer from #NCFC to #RangersFC is now more or less a done deal.

"Not far away from an announcement by Rangers, post successful medical."

Good move

Rangers have moved quickly and managed to secure the services of the 24-year-old - a player Michael Beale surely would've watched in person.

Often, clubs get recommendations from agents and due to the lack of proper scouting, they end up signing players based on word of mouth.

However, Beale's time at QPR gave him a very good idea of the Championship market and the level of football there is slightly lower than in the SPFL.

Rangers

It was ideal as he knew the players who could be a good fit for his side and also not be too expensive as it's a tight-run ship at Ibrox.

We're expecting this deal to be finalised sooner rather than later, hopefully by the weekend as long-drawn transfer sagas aren't ideal for anyone.

The finances of this deal will be interesting as Norwich would've been driven into a tight spot as his contract runs out at the end of the season.
