Dan Bardell is unsure whether or not Todd Cantwell would look to depart Rangers in a move to Saudi Arabia after summer interest.

With former Light Blues Chief Executive Officer James Bisgrove now in the boardroom at the Saudi Arabian outfit, there is a chance for a reunion with the 26-year-old.

Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell doesn't think there is as much money being splashed around this summer which could affect Cantwell's desire to move.

Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, Bardell said: "The Saudi Arabian market isn't going as big as it did last season, they seem to be going after cheaper, experienced players.

"I'm not sure Cantwell would want to go there at all. He's almost fully rebuilt his career after a really difficult end to his time at Norwich and Bournemouth.

"I think he would be better off staying at Rangers but a move could depend on what he would want."

Todd Cantwell could depart Rangers

Philippe Clement is looking to rebuild his Gers squad this summer as he looks to catch up with his Old Firm rivals ahead of the new season.

After losing the likes of John Lundstram and Borna Barisic already, the Belgian may not be interested in losing more star names.

Cantwell featured across 44 appearances last season for Rangers which saw him pick up eight goals in all competitions and five league assists [FotMob].

This is a positive return for the Englishman who has received mixed reviews from supporters since his move from Norwich over a year ago.

If a bid comes in that Clement can't refuse then a move to Saudi Arabia makes sense, although it remains unclear whether he would want to depart.

The 26-year-old has been spotted arriving for pre-season training ahead of a camp in the Netherlands so that could point towards a potential stay.
