Tam Cowan hit out at Sky Sports' coverage of the Ross County versus Rangers game due to the punditry line-up.

Chris Sutton, Kris Boyd and James McFadden were the studio guests at Victoria Park for Sunday's (14 April) Scottish Premiership contest.

In the view of Daily Record journalist Cowan, someone associated with Ross County should have been part of the panel.

"As much as I enjoy Chris Sutton, Kris Boyd and James McFadden as pundits, where was the Ross County guy today?" he posted on his Instagram story [14 April].

"Come on Sky Sports - would you do game at Parkhead or Ibrox without a Celtic or Rangers pundit?"

Sutton and Boyd are Sky's go-to pundits and cover both bases as far as the Old Firm divide goes, while McFadden never represented either in his playing days.

Charlie Adam, who does a fair bit of punditry work, perhaps would have been a good choice to turn to given he played for both Rangers and Ross County.

Ultimately, we do not know who Sky reached out to. The coverage was solid enough anyway, even if it can now often turn into a parody when Sutton and Boyd are involved.

Rangers are due to be televised once again on Wednesday (17 April) when taking on Dundee at Dens Park - or possibly McDiarmid Park - and you would expect Sutton and Boyd to again be involved in that coverage.

Regardless of who is in the studio, hopefully it will make for better viewing for those watching from home than the Ross County match did.
