Silas Andersen's comments about a future transfer may force Rangers to move on to alternative targets.

The BK Hacken star was one of several midfielders believed to be on the Gers' shortlist, with the likes of Jens Hjerto-Dahl and David Watson also linked.

Reports in his native Denmark in January claimed that the Light Blues wanted to spend £3.5million on the 21-year-old.

They stated that his current club were looking for £6m and had dismissed a bid from FC Koln, which valued him the same as what Danny Rohl's side did.

Rangers have now learned Andersen's stance on an exit, as he has spoken out on a potential move, and they may look elsewhere.

What has Rangers target Andersen said about future move?

Hacken’s football director, Martin Ericsson, revealed that Rangers and other interested clubs would have to pay a club record fee for the maestro, when asked about the interest in his services.

However, it appears that he would be happy to stay with the Swedish side beyond the summer transfer window based on his newest admission.

In an interview released on 2 April, via Danish outlet Bold, he said: “I’m really happy to play here.

“This is where I had my breakthrough, and it’s still going strong.

“We made a plan when I moved here, which was that I would play a lot of matches and develop.

“The plan has always been that I would switch this summer, but now we’ll have to see.

“I am still really happy and satisfied here.”

Can Rangers convince Andersen that a move is right?

Rangers' focus in the latter stages winter window when the interest in Andersen emerged was bringing in attacking reinforcements, and they did so with Andreas Skov Olsen and Ryan Naderi.

However, they may decide to revisit a potential deal in the summer if the recruitment team are so enamoured by him, and want him over anyone else.

Whether a move would be possible, with his feelings on a potential transfer, remains to be seen, but it would be a very good addition for the Gers.

Andersen has made 16 appearances so far this season, with three goals and one assist in 1,379 minutes of action.

They should try to convince him, but if they do not and he is firm on his stance, they will have to find someone else to bolster their midfield.

They will surely already have a list of targets drawn up, rather than just focusing on one player, and they may have to turn to that, if he is not available or willing to join.
