Ridvan Yilmaz will return to Turkey from Rangers someday after consistent links back home, Craig Moore says.

The former Gers defender believes the left-back will move back to his home country in the coming future amid recent interest from the likes of Besiktas [Haberturk, 4 February].

Moore feels Yilmaz has shown his value at the Light Blues, but injuries have hampered his career at Ibrox.

Speaking on the Go Radio Football Show (4 February), the ex-Australia international said: "[Yilmaz] kind of shows when he is fit and in the team that there's some real value there in terms of the type of player and his performances. He's probably been unfortunate with injuries.

"He's always going to be linked back home to Turkey there's no doubt about that. At some stage, that does happen."

Rangers to lose Ridvan Yilmaz with Turkish transfer

While the transfer window in Scotland has closed, clubs in Turkey can still sign players until 11 February.

It wouldn't be surprising to see interest in Yilmaz continue for a few more days, and his situation could be one to keep an eye on.

Zak Lovelace completed a surprising return to Millwall on transfer deadline day, a scenario still possible regarding the Turkish left-back.

Rangers will evidently want to keep a hold of the 23-year-old at least until the end of the season due to his recent performances.

After an injury crisis in the backline, Philippe Clement has relied on the defender to play in several positions over the last few weeks.

Yilmaz hasn't been included in recent squads due to a fitness issue, which has coincided with James Tavernier's return to the starting lineup.

While the 23-year-old may not be the first choice at the Gers, he seems to be an important fixture to maintain squad depth.

Jefte is the main candidate at left-back, but the Turkish ace arguably has a chance to stake a claim in the coming months.
