Rangers could face weather trouble as they face off against Dundee United on Saturday.

Danny Rohl's side are set to return to Scottish Premiership action after the international break as the Tangerines travel to Ibrox.

The Light Blues are coming into the Govan clash off the back of consecutive wins against St Mirren and Aberdeen.

Ahead of the March break, Jim Goodwin and Co. secured a 2-0 win over Celtic and will be hopeful of securing yet another Old Firm scalp.

Rangers will prepare to face Dundee United, but fans will be concerned to learn of weather warnings and a potential postponement in Govan.

The Gers are coming into another clash in G51 in positive form after going 10 without defeat across all competitions, excluding penalty shootout losses.

A 4-1 win over Aberdeen last time out helped continue that positive run, with goals from Tochi Chukwuani, Mikey Moore, Nico Raskin and James Tavernier securing the three points.

Things may not be so easy against Dundee United, especially after Will Ferry and Emmanuel Agyei scored to seal a win over Celtic last time around.

It appears as if the weather isn't going to help either side, with the Met Office issuing a yellow weather warning for wind on 4 April.

They expect spells of "very strong winds" that could "cause some damage and travel disruption", with the "slight chance that power cuts may occur, with the potential to affect other services, such as mobile phone coverage".

This could all have a negative impact on the chances of the Ibrox encounter going ahead, especially if electricity goes down ahead of kick-off.

Dundee United will pose a threat to Rangers, so these weather conditions are only likely to cause further frustration in G51.

Rangers must play against weather to maintain title hunt

The Gers face two outings ahead of the Scottish Premiership split, with Dundee United first, followed by Falkirk away.

A home matchup with Goodwin's side will be tough, but three points are necessary and would take them ahead of Hearts before they play on Sunday.

Three points currently separate the two, with the Maroons preparing for a clash of their own away to Livingston on Sunday.

They will also face high winds, as the weather looks set to have its say on the title race this campaign.

The weather conditions will certainly play their part, but Rohl needs to prepare his side and allow them to battle through at Ibrox.
