Boca Juniors striker Luca Langoni's agent Carlos Censi has issued an update amid transfer links to Rangers in the January window.

The Daily Record have revealed the Argentine's links to Ibrox with him scoring 10 goals in 45 games this season and have claimed he's "highly-rated" at Boca.

Gers have signed Fabio Silva on loan from Wolves this month but are understood to be keen on another striker.

Speaking on DSports Radio, Censi said: "Luca is happy, he took off the injury backpack at the end of last year with the parties. This year he is with everything. There were no offers from Europe. Just some surveys and approaches. We have our heads in Boca. This year it has to be Luca's, physically, technically and mentally, to continue gaining minutes in the First Division."

Move on

Rangers should exercise caution in pursuing Langoni as a move may not be prudent at this time.

Firstly, while the 21-year-old has been linked to Rangers amid their quest for another striker, his goal-scoring record of 10 goals in 45 games this season with Boca Juniors is not particularly impressive.

This suggests a potential inconsistency in finding the back of the net, a quality crucial for a team challenging for titles.

Moreover, the Argentine's relative youth at 21 raises questions about his readiness to handle the pressure of consistently delivering goals week in and week out, especially in a competitive league like the SPFL.

The lack of substantial European offers and only some surveys and approaches indicate a potential lack of widespread interest, urging Rangers to carefully evaluate if Langoni is the right fit for their immediate needs and long-term aspirations.

Clement

In many ways, he's similar to Silva, a young striker with potential but no proven track record so they're better off considering options like Lawrence Shankland.
