Rangers are expected to agree a compensation deal for James Bisgrove in "a matter of weeks" after his exit was confirmed, according to Chris Jack.

Writing on the Rangers Review website (31 May), the journalist reports that a six-figure compensation fee is expected to be agreed after the club's CEO agreed a move to the Middles East.

Rangers announced the deal on Thursday (31 May), and there is currently no plans to replace him immediately with the club's attention currently on providing a successful transfer window for Philippe Clement first and foremost.

Rangers must push ahead with transfer window plans

Of course it's not ideal for the Ibrox club to lose such a huge figure behind the scenes at such a key part of the transfer window, but they need to continue with their plans.

Bisgrove was reportedly part of the transfer process already this summer but a move came together relatively quickly and an offer was just too good to refuse.

Now Nils Koppen will report directly to the club chairman, and he and Clement will continue to push towards finding a new talent to strengthen the squad and close the gap on Celtic.

Titles and trophies are the ultimate priority for the club and even with an unexpected exit taking place behind the scenes, the plans can't change so Rangers now must find a way to adapt and push forward.

Jefte has already joined, Liam Kelly is expected to sign before Euro 2024 and Adama Traore is in "very advanced talks" about a move, but there is far more to do before the season begins in August.
