Mark Guidi believes Philippe Clement could be sacked over the "next few weeks" as Rangers prepare to welcome Patrick Stewart to the boardroom.

The new CEO is set to begin his role at Ibrox on 16 December due to the Gers wanting to games against Tottenham and Celtic out of the way before the appointment [The Herald].

One of his first decisions in charge could be to sack Clement as pressure continues to mount on the manager, with an 11-point gap emerging with Celtic in the Scottish Premiership table.

Speaking via the Go Radio Football Show [26 November], Guidi said: "I think the manager will lose his job at some point over the next few weeks. I don't think there's any way back now.

"I congratulate Rangers now for making the appointments needed to go and restructure the club. It'll give the new executive team a chance to assess what is going on and get a feel of what's gone on.

"Then, they'll have big decisions to make and the biggest decision will be whether they'll keep Clement. I don't see any evidence to suggest that he's the man to lead Rangers forward."

Supporters are only continuing to lose faith in the manager as the Light Blues play out disappointing results in the Scottish Premiership, most recently with a 1-1 draw with Dundee United.

The Gers had to settle for a single point at Ibrox, with Vaclav Cerny helping to salvage a point at home after Sam Dalby opened the scoring for the visitors in the first half.

With Dundee United just three points behind the Light Blues, losing all three points on Saturday 23 November could have very much been the final straw, and some fans will have been hoping for the worst.

While the team continue to falter in the league, the Gers are a much different entity in the Europa League and are currently just two points below the Round of 16 spots.

A victory against Nice on Thursday 28 November would certainly throw some doubt over whether Clement is the right man to lead the Gers forward, but it could be too little too late now.
