Rangers have added Kevin Bain to their backroom team after successfully poaching him from Aberdeen, according to the Daily Record.

The news outlet reported on 1 December that he is "one of the top" physios in the country and has joined Philippe Clement's staff as the new head physio.

The Dons' search to replace Bain is understood to be at an advanced stage.

Rangers have made an important backroom hire

Bain's reputation as one of Scotland's premier physiotherapists with a strong track record in injury prevention is crucial given the club's injury woes year on year.

His experience across various Scottish clubs, including St Mirren and Ross County means he brings a wealth of knowledge about the local football scene, understanding the physical demands placed on players in the Scottish Premiership.

The physio's previous association with successful managers like Jim Goodwin and Neil Warnock suggests he can work effectively within a high-pressure environment.

For Clement, having a top-tier physio is vital for implementing his tactical plans, as player fitness directly correlates with the ability to perform those tactics consistently.

Bain's role will be to ensure the squad remains robust, reducing the chances of long-term injuries that could derail Rangers' season, making this move a strategic enhancement to the club’s medical and performance infrastructure.

Hopefully, this move pays off and the club are run more professionally behind the scenes in terms of fitness.
