The Newsquest Scotland journalist reported on 18 September that the current deal is an 80% uplift from the previous one.

Along with bonuses, it could go up to as much as 93%, which is good news for the Ibrox outfit, who made an official announcement on 18 September.

Via X, McFarlane wrote: "Good news for Rangers. They have agreed an 80% uplift on the previous deal. I'm told bonuses could take it up to 93%. It's the biggest front-of-shirt deal ever done at Ibrox."

Rangers making the right decisions off the pitch

This infusion of funds is expected to strengthen the club's financial stability which can only bode well for them.

Financially, it allows for greater investment into crucial things like squad development, infrastructure and youth academies, potentially enhancing on-field performance.

The deal also underscores Rangers' commercial appeal, potentially attracting more high-value partnerships in the future.

From a branding perspective, having one of the largest sponsorship deals in their history not only enhances the club's profile but also aligns with global marketing, possibly expanding the fanbase and commercial reach.

Fans will be hoping that this can translate into good performances on the field of play as they have been in the shadow of rivals Celtic.

On paper, this seems a good thing, but whether or not it's dealt with well behind the scenes, remains to be seen.
