Rangers predicted XI vs Aberdeen: Kim thrown as McInnes rips up midfield in five changes

Derek McInnes is already feeling the heat at Rangers after another humiliation in the Conference League.

The Gers were beaten 1-0 by Czech outfit Jablonec in the second leg of their Conference League play-off tie on Thursday.

Rangers went on to lose the shoot-out, meaning they failed to make the group stage and will play no further part in Europe this season.

It represents a huge embarrassment for a Rangers side who failed to win their opening two Scottish Premiership matches.

Rangers started with a draw at Dundee United, then were beaten by Hibernian at Ibrox.

With the under-fire McInnes in need of a win, Ibrox News has predicted five changes for Sunday's clash against his former employers Aberdeen.

Rangers have been through so much upheaval in the transfer market that McInnes is still trying to figure out his best starting XI.

Defensively, though, he is starting to finally get something like a settled line-up.

With Tuur Rommens unavailable, it is hard to imagine James Penrice will lose his spot at left-back.

At centre-back, Olwethu Makhanya and Emmanuel Fernandez have been McInnes' main pairing and he will likely want to stick with that partnership.

However, he might want to make a change at right-back, so Dujon Sterling could drop out for Kosta Nedeljkovic.

Rangers have added several central midfield options this transfer window, but remarkably they still look like they need major improvement there.

Nico Raskin was omitted against Jablonec and it looks unlikely he will feature here.

But Dan Neil struggled badly and it could be that Cammy Devlin - suspended against Jablonec - partners Vanja Dragojevic in the centre of the park.

One big concern for Rangers is where the goals are coming from, and the arrival of Kim Min-su was made to try and fill the creativity void.

The South Korean might be thrown straight in here, replacing Djeidi Gassama on the right flank, and Daisuke Yokota keeping his place on the right.

It would represent a risk, but Thelo Aasgaard might get another chance in an attacker midfielder role, replacing Tochi Chukwuani in the starting XI.

Lawrence Shankland has copped his fair share of criticism early in his Rangers career, but with a new attacking option in Kim to create chances, the skipper might be the fifth change, starting in place of Ryan Naderi.
