Rangers: Philippe Clement must reward Rabbi Matondo after what he did v Celtic

Philippe Clement must reward Rabbi Matondo with a Rangers start against Ross County on Sunday (14 April), off the back of his Old Firm heroics at Ibrox.

Missing his fair share of matches through injury, Matondo has struggled for consistency, but that could all change under the guidance of Clement, who has already implemented many changes at Ibrox.

The Belgian will be keen to get the 23-year-old winger firing on all cylinders as Rangers look to finish the Scottish Premiership campaign on a high and beat their Old Firm rivals to the title.

Matondo may have helped the Gers one step closer to that achievement with his heroics against Celtic on Sunday 7 April, coming off the bench to equalise in the third minute of added time with a stunning effort to make it 3-3.

Despite only playing 32 minutes of football over the last two matches, he has scored twice, netting the other in a 3-1 win over Hibernian the week before.

Though Clement will be comfortable with using Matondo as a substitute, the 23-year-old finally earned himself a start, which he should be handed against Ross County.

With five goals and three assists in 17 Scottish Premiership matches this season, the winger will have one of the best goal contributions per minute this season, boasting a goal or assist every 69 minutes. [FotMob]

His lack of minutes on the pitch will need to be taken into consideration, but it says a lot about how impactful he can be when called upon and entrusted to get Rangers back into the game.

Considering that the Gers have just a handful of matches of the league campaign left, all of Clement's players must be playing at their top gear, especially if they are to beat Celtic to the title.

With Abdallah Sima still working his way back to full fitness, Fabio Silva performing well below par, and Ross McCausland struggling for minutes recently, it could be Matondo's time to shine.
