Rangers on brink of civil war as Keith Jackson issues behind-the-scenes update

Rangers appeared to be on the brink of a civil war between the club's ultras and the board room, according to Keith Jackson.

The Daily Record journalist reported on 14 November that escalating tensions at the club have seen the Union Bears take a swipe at the hierarchy.

This comes after they claim that they were refused early entry into the stadium ahead of the 1-0 win over Hearts in order to set up a Remembrance Day display on 10 November.

If the banners in question were not controversial and if there has been a precedent for allowing such groups early access to similar events, the decision to block this entry is indeed baffling.

Remembrance Day holds a special place in British culture and football clubs often play a role in commemorative activities, which are typically viewed as unifying rather than divisive.

The Union Bears' frustration is understandable as for a club to seemingly obstruct a tribute to those who served, especially when it's part of established tradition, sends the wrong message.

This not only alienates a passionate segment of the fanbase but also raises questions about the board's judgment and priorities, potentially fueling the sense of discord between the club's management and its most dedicated supporters.

The board are already not popular with a large chunk of the fanbase and things like this are not a good look for them.

How things unfold, remains to be seen, but the club will now need to issue a response.
