Zurich centre-back Nikola Katic has a lower injury risk post his transfer if he does re-join Rangers, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that his fitness record over the last two seasons is also a positive but the 28-year-old will still have an adaptation process post his move.

This comes after Daily Record's Keith Jackson reported on 8 January that Gers have made contact to bring the Bosnia and Herzegovina international back to Ibrox.

Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said: "He’s not had any injury in the last two seasons, so that’s always a positive for any club looking to sign him.

"Also, experience in the league will reduce injury risk because he better understands the demands of the league.

"However, there is still an adaptation process that he and the club will be aware of as well as looking for any outlier concerns in his medical."

Rangers are unlikely to sign Nikola Katic

Gers already roped in Rafael Fernandes in this transfer window and they're unlikely to pursue the services of another centre-back.

What they could look to do is rope in a midfielder or an attacker, but as things stand, Katic's return is not on the cards.

Also, at 28, he does fall under the older category as the club appear to be prioritising younger signings.
