Rangers goalkeeping sensation Lewis Budinauckas has sealed his Ibrox loan exit to join Stranraer FC on loan until the end of the season.

The Scottish League Two side announced on their official website on Saturday (23 September) that they have sealed the services of the 21-year-old.

He was the first choice stopped for the Rangers B side in the Lowlands League and has now moved a few divisions below for regular first-team football.

Right move

In their announcement, Stranraer referred to the keeper as "highly-rated" and that's certainly a sentiment shared at Ibrox.

Budinauckas was even in the Champions League matchday squad last season where he was an unused substitute against Napoli.

That shows that he's regarded well at the club and this loan will give him the opportunity to prove himself in a different environment.

Rangers

There will certainly not be the eyeballs that there are in Rangers games, but the quality of football is going to be better.

It will only help him develop into a better keeper and if next season, he's ready to become the second choice or the third choice, he's going to need to perform well this term.

At 21, he's still very young so there won't be any pressure to deliver from the get go at Ibrox, and he can bide his time as second choice too, for a few years.
