Rangers have plenty of exciting youngsters coming through their ranks, with the future definitely looking bright at Ibrox.

Two such players are Bailey Rice and Leyton Grant, who are out of action for their club right now due to international duty.

The official Rangers B & Academy X account (13 February) wished the duo well as Scotland Under-19s faced Turkey in a friendly clash.

And as per the official Scotland National Team X account (13 February), the Ibrox pair were both handed starts for the match, with Rice captaining his country.

The starts for the two players, and of course the captaincy, will have really pleased first-team manager Philippe Clement, with Rice having already clinched three senior appearances for the Gers.

The Belgian boss will have been busy this week preparing for the club’s Scottish Premiership meeting with Ross County on Wednesday (14 February), but perhaps he has taken a minute or two to check in on his young stars.

Scotland Under-19s narrowly lost the match 1-0, with the country in action again on Friday (16 February) against Latvia.

The matches come as preparation for March’s UEFA EURO 2024 Elite Round, with Scotland having qualified back in November, finishing top of a group involving Serbia, Bulgaria and Andorra.

Rice and Grant will be eager to continue their key roles at international level in the upcoming Elite Round, with the nation drawn alongside the Czech Republic, Georgia and Italy.

It represents a great chance for the Rangers youngsters to not only prove themselves at this level, but to gain experience at a well-regarded international competition, one which will be drawing plenty of significant onlookers.
