Rangers: Findlay Curtis opens up on Scotland World Cup call after whirlwind 12 months
Rangers youngster Findlay Curtis will be hoping for a successful World Cup campaign with Scotland in North America this summer before returning to Auchenhowie for pre-season.
The winger has had a rollercoaster 12 months to kickstart his first full season as a professional footballer.
Curtis was given early chances under Russell Martin, but Danny Rohl's arrival saw the teenager lose more playing opportunities.
The Bears then decided it was best to loan him out to Kilmarnock for the second half of the season, where he bagged six goal involvements under the guidance of Neil McCann.
He left an impression on Scotland manager Steve Clarke, who made the somewhat unexpected final decision to call the 19-year-old up for the Tartan Army's World Cup campaign this summer.
Now, Curtis has opened up on his recent experiences, as he hopes for further chances after making his World Cup debut in the 1-0 win over Haiti.
Findlay Curtis says it's 'all changed' since last year
Curtis was given a chance in pre-season almost 12 months ago, as he only made his debut for the Gers in the 2024-25 campaign.
He did manage to get five goal involvements for the Bears before leaving on loan in the winter, as Kilmarnock may be the reason he's in North America right now.
While filming an interview for Scotland's National Team YouTube channel, Curtis was asked about the moment he knew he was going to the World Cup, and was going to become the youngest ever Scottish player to do so.
Curtis said: "It was amazing, this time last year I was still at the academy at Rangers and I was going into the pre-season environment in the first team, it's all changed since then.
"It was brilliant. It's good to be at a competition for Scotland at such a young age."
Curtis played eight minutes against Haiti, picking up a yellow card for a rash challenge on Josue Casimir, raising his studs.
Hopefully, it won't put Clarke off playing him in Scotland's next game against Morocco on Friday evening.
Curtis has new opportunity amid Rangers latest
Curtis is still a raw talent and has plenty of learning and developing to do before he reaches his full potential.
Regardless, Rangers should be focused on convincing him that he does have an important future role at Ibrox, and that may be helped with the arrival of Derek McInnes.
The former Hearts boss may want all the Scottish players he can get, as he knows what is required for the Bears to win the title.
There's a good chance that McInnes gives Curtis a shot in pre-season, and if he takes his chance, he could start on matchday one against Dundee United.
