Rangers’ coaching team is set to undergo many changes over the coming weeks.

Russell Martin’s appointment as the Gers' new manager is believed to be close after a successful interview.

As a result, Martin is looking to bring in multiple coaches to help him at Ibrox.

However, as well as incomings, outgoings could also take place this month within Rangers' coaching staff.

Issame Charai linked with managerial job at Belgian side Beerschot

The 43-year-old was part of Barry Ferguson’s set-up and helped see out the remainder of the 2024/25 campaign.

With Martin set to join Rangers over the coming days, Charai’s future is currently unclear.

However, the departure of the Moroccan could occur despite the Englishman’s appointment, according to a recent report.

Belgian outlet GVA (3 June) is reporting that Charai is in consideration for the job at Beerschot.

Former Premier League star Dirk Kuyt is under pressure at the club, and the Belgian Pro League outfit are looking for a replacement.

Zulte-Waregem assistant Mo Messoudi is the apparent frontrunner. However, Charai is also in consideration.

The Moroccon had previously been the assistant manager at the Belgian club between 2016-18.

Issame Charai

Charai unlikely to have future at Rangers

While Charai only recently joined Rangers, it is hard to see him having a future at the Gers once Martin is officially appointed.

The Englishman will likely want to start with a clean slate at Ibrox in order to get his ideas across clearly.

Keeping the assistant manager of the last two coaches would seem unnecessary, especially when he is wanted elsewhere.

Unfortunately for Charai, his journey at Rangers has not gone to plan so far. However, if he can become the manager of Beerschot, it would be an excellent consolation prize.

Hopefully, the 43-year-old’s future is confirmed as soon as possible.
