Rangers: Chris Sutton shares immediate reaction amid Celtic SFA complaint after Old Firm draw
Chris Sutton has shared his one-word reaction after a brand new officiating development emerged following Rangers' Old Firm derby draw with Celtic.
Reports emerged on Monday [Daily Record, 8 April] that Celtic had sent a new message to the SFA as they believe that referee John Beaton wasn't given the right footage when he awarded Philippe Clement's side a second-half penalty.
Beaton decided that Fabio Silva was fouled by Alistair Johnston, despite initially booking the Portuguese forward for simulation and Sutton has admitted that it is "interesting" that the Hoops have now voiced their concerns over VAR.
Writing on X on Monday (8 April) he said: "Interesting..."

Sutton made few secrets of his feelings on Silva's penalty call on Sunday (7 April) branding the Rangers forward a cheat live on commentary, suggesting that he was already heading to the ground before being hit by Johnston's challenge.
While it did initially seem as though the Wolves loanee had made the most of the contact, on review it was clear that the Celtic defender had fouled Silva. It may have been a harsh penalty to award, but it was definitely a spot-kick.
What Celtic hope to achieve with their complaint to the SFA remains to be seen, but it does seem slightly worrying that Beaton may not have been given the right footage by the VAR, even if it did benefit the Gers at Ibrox.
The officiating north of the border this season has been nothing short of abysmal, with every game now being overshadowed by a controversial decision or too. This is unacceptable, especially in a title race as close as this one.
Hopefully, Celtic's complaint will be brushed to one side by the SFA, but will also help these sorts of mistakes be cut out in the future.
