Sky Bet Championship outfit West Brom are expected to launch a considerable firesale of their key stars such as Karlan Grant giving Rangers the chance to seal an easy transfer this summer.

Michael Beale will desperately be in the market for forwards this summer with Ryan Kent, Alfredo Morelos both departing Ibrox after expiring contracts while Antonio Colak is likely to move on.

The Gers completed the signing of Sam Lammers from Atalanta and are working on a deal to bring Cyriel Dessers which has proven difficult. However, Beale has the chance to seal an immediate quick deal on a player currently being targeted.

Journalist Darren Witcoop reported on 10 May that the Light Blues were in the hunt to sign Karlan Grant who cost the English side £15million back in 2020 on a long-term deal.

Grant has unfortunately been a bit-part player for the Baggies this term, only making 18 starts all campaign with Carlos Corberan preferring both Daryl Dike and Brandon Thomas-Asante.

Grant will be seeking a new lease of life for next season and Rangers could ideally be his perfect next destination with Beale looking to acquire one or two forwards for the new Scottish Premiership campaign.

West Brom are under financial pressure to sell some of their prized assets this summer and according to the Daily Mail [28 April] will be launching a swift firesale of their key players this summer.

They wrote: "The club have been struggling with cash-flow problems all season and gambled on promotion by borrowing £20million from MSD Capital to avoid selling players in January, but will struggle to secure more lending while they are still in the Championship.

"To compound matters, their parachute payments from the Premier League will reduce to around £15m next season, so selling players such as Dara O'Shea and Karlan Grant is the only way they can survive."

West Brom captain Dara O'Shea is already closing in on a move to Burnley for around £7m and the Baggies could well be seeing another household name leave the club soon enough.

It's no secret that Rangers will be in desperate need of a penalty box poacher in order to fully challenge Celtic and Grant certainly represents a stunning opportunity, at a potentially cheap price because of his impressive record in recent seasons.

Rangers

Throughout the club's struggles under Steve Bruce during the 2021/22 campaign, Grant was simply superb registering 18 goals and six assists from 44 Championship games. Such stats in a relatively poor team is no mean feat and goes to show the quality that Grant possesses in his attacking weaponry.

With the Gers struggling to secure Dessers at this moment in time, they arguably have a more proven and dangerous goal-getter in Grant currently waiting in the wings to be snapped up and relieved of his difficult situation at The Hawthorns.

Grant is the right-profile striker for Rangers to consider signing, he's ready and available.
