Rangers will have high hopes for Findlay Curtis, who has grown by leaps and bounds this season.

The young Rangers talent has proved himself out on loan for Kilmarnock, with his sights now set on showcasing his talents at Ibrox. But first he has the World Cup.

Danny Rohl did not have room for Curtis last season, but after his World Cup call-up, that may look to change.

Former Rangers star Barry Ferguson is fully behind the 19-year-old, and has tipped him for an improved role next season.

The rise of Curtis could save Rangers from having to dip into the transfer window, and allow them to invest those funds elsewhere.

What has Barry Ferguson said about Rangers' Findlay Curtis?

Losing Mikey Moore was not ideal for Rangers, and the Gers are left a little light in wide options now.

While Moore is wanted back at Ibrox, it remains to be seen what Tottenham's intentions for their young winger are.

However, if they wish to keep Moore in London ahead of next season, the Bears already have their own talent in Curtis.

The winger has been tipped to have a more significant role under Rohl next season by Ferguson, who is one of his biggest fans.

Writing for the Daily Record, Ferguson stated: "He took a brave decision going out on loan to Kilmarnock for the second half of last season and it has paid off big time with a seat on the plane to the US with the rest of Steve Clarke’s squad.

"He’ll be heading back to Ibrox after the tournament and then it will be up to the 19-year-old to kick on and prove he’s man enough to handle regular first-team action with Rangers.

"And I think he is."

Time will tell where the future lies for Curtis, but with a Scotland call-up at just 19 years old, it is a clear sign his development is heading in the right direction.

Strong performances in North America would leave manager Rohl with little room to ignore the youngster.

What has Danny Rohl said about Curtis?

The decision to send Curtis out on loan may make it seem like Rohl is not the biggest admirer of the winger, but that is not the case.

Rohl has previously praised Curtis for his ability to take on criticism and implement those suggestions into his game.

In January, before Curtis made a temporary switch to Kilmarnock, Rohl said: "Sometimes when you speak with a player and give him some examples… I think Findlay understood my words two and a half weeks ago when we spoke very honestly about how I see him.

"Since then, he has exactly the mindset. Today he was brave, also with nice possession. I must say, for 1-0, I liked this match because we were on the front foot, won the ball high up the pitch against a team who are not easy to press."

The Gers manager went on to say the decision to loan was simply down to gametime, but ahead of next season, that will surely not be a worry.

Curtis has already proved he can play to a high level in the Scottish Premiership, and he is poised to be a key star for the Ibrox outfit now.
