Rangers manager Philippe Clement has now emerged as the favourite to be the next Belgium manager, according to Rangers Review.

The news outlet reported on 18 November that Domenico Tedesco is expected to be sacked by the Belgian FA.

The Belgian is reportedly leading a five-man shortlist for the job after his former chief executive and mentor Vincent Mannaert was appointed the Belgian FA's sports director.

Rangers fans expected to be thrilled if Philippe Clement leaves

A large chunk of the Gers fanbase would likely be thrilled with this news as they've watched their side endure a wretched start to the season.

They find their team nine points adrift of not just Celtic but also Aberdeen who are managing to succeed with a fraction of Rangers' resources.

The fans have booed Clement at Ibrox and it's clear that he's not a popular man in the stands so seeing him exit will be welcome news.

Also, if the Belgian FA are to poach him, they will have to pay Rangers compensation and not the club having to pay Clement for sacking him,

It could be a win-win as they would get rid of an underperforming manager while also not having to give him anything in return.

This saga is most certainly an interesting one and it remains to be seen if Clement fancies the job.
