Rangers manager Philippe Clement is still to be approached by the Belgian FA, Ibrox News has learned.

Belgium parted ways with Domenico Tedesco and are on the lookout for a new manager for the period leading up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Ibrox News understands that while Clement is one of the names under consideration, he's unlikely to be leaving the club mid-way through the season.

Philippe Clement is set to stay at Rangers for the time being

Journalist Sacha Tavolieri who reported on Tedesco's sacking before the announcement was made has claimed that Belgium will not be able to pay the amount Gers would ask in order to release their manager.

It was suggested that if Rangers wanted to sack their manager, they would have to pay him around £7.5million.

However, there are no imminent plans for the Ibrox outfit to part ways with the man in charge.

Gers find themselves struggling domestically as they're currently 13 points behind league leaders Celtic.

Clement is still an unpopular figure among the fans but recently was given a vote of confidence by Patrick Stewart.

It remains to be seen if the Ibrox outfit decide to sack him in the coming weeks given their dismal away form.
