Philippe Clement is still "Clinging" to his position at Rangers as their domestic struggles continue, according to the Daily Record.

Andy Newport wrote in the newspaper's print edition (19 November, page 45), that while form in Europe remains respectable, their domestic efforts this season have not been good enough.

Light Blues fans remain unconvinced that Clement is the man to return Premiership glory to Ibrox, with pressure rising on the Belgian as he sits nine points behind Celtic and Aberdeen.

Philippe Clement could be on the verge of the sack at Rangers

It's no surprise that pressure is mounting on Clement following a below-par start to the season, losing by a combined 5-1 scoreline to front-runners Celtic and Aberdeen so far.

While Clement is still looked upon fondly by the Belgian Football Association, the Ibrox faithful are growing tired of seeing a style of play which both the Hoops and Dons have easily been able to beat.

Gers fans remain supportive of Clement compared to the Ibrox board and have made such feelings clear, but unless the gap to the top two is closed, he could be given his marching orders.

With the Scottish League Cup Final giving Clement the chance to both beat Celtic and retain the only trophy he's won with the Bears so far, the 50-year-old still has a chance to turn things around.

However, the Premiership remains the ultimate goal for fans as they look to get their title race back on track, and the pressure on Clement will only mount further if they fall further behind.
