Peter Grant reacts to 'nonsense' he heard Charlie Adam say about Rangers
Rangers are riding the crest of a wave in the Scottish Premiership right now.
The Gers have racked up seven straight wins in all competitions, six of those coming in the league.
Their latest triumph came courtesy of a 3-1 triumph over Kilmarnock at Ibrox on Saturday.
Ryan Naderi netted twice in the win, with Kevin Kelsy also on target on home turf.
However, something Charlie Adam said about Derek McInnes and Rangers raised a few eyebrows with Peter Grant.
What did Charlie Adam say about Rangers?
McInnes took a few games to figure out what his best starting XI is at Rangers, after a heavy summer rebuild.
But now, he has seemingly settled on what he believes is his best line-up, and the consistency has been yielding rewards.
However, former Rangers midfielder Adam wrote in the Scottish Sun that he thinks the Gers need to utilise their entire squad.
Adam made the point that if Rangers are going to win the Scottish Premiership, they will have to have all members of the squad firing on all cylinders.
He wrote: "You need your squad and Ryan Naderi and Bojan Miovski have both contributed.
“That’s what Rangers need. You’re not going to win games and league titles with 15 or 16 players. You’re going to need EVERYBODY.”
That drew a retort from Grant, who is not convinced by what Adam said.
How did Peter Grant respond to Charlie Adam's Rangers point?
Grant was told about what Adam said during the Go Radio Football Show.
The former Celtic player and coach pointed out that Rangers are no longer in European football this season.
As such, McInnes is able to go for a settled side when everyone is fit and healthy, without the accumulation of games.
Responding to what he was told about Adam's comments, Grant said: "I'm surprised you're talking about the Charlie Adam on there, why would you need to change it?
"They're out of Europe Rangers they've got the Scottish Cup. If I'm Rangers I'm picking the strongest team week in, week out. And if that's the same players, then it's the same players for me.
Later in the discussion, he added: "I look at that one Charlie said, I think the complete opposite, I'd be playing the strongest team week in, week out, get the results on the board, and I'm sure Derek McInnes will do that."
Host Paul Cooney then rounded out the discussion by saying: "Charlie good to hear you speaking out, but that's nonsense, that's the view of basically...not the management here - but it's a free society."
