Nils Koppen exit: Major Rangers bombshell emerges from Ibrox

Nils Koppen has played a key role in the recruitment since he joined Rangers in January 2024.

He joined as the director of recruitment and head of the scouting department after Ross Wilson left for Nottingham Forest, but he was not hired as a direct replacement.

Koppen has overseen the academy, the medical staff, football operations as well as the performance and analysis.

Ibrox exit on the cards for Koppen post the 49ers takeover

According to the Mail on 22 April, several positions behind the scenes will need to be filled post the takeover.

The Ibrox outfit are in the hunt for a new chief commercial officer as Sean Jefferson has filled that role only on a temporary basis.

It is widely expected that Koppen, who is currently the technical director, could be leaving the club after the takeover is completed.

As Creag Robertson departed in late 2024, Koppen's remit was extended and he was responsible for more roles at Ibrox.

While he was understood to be planning for the summer window ahead, things may look different in the coming weeks.
