Rangers and Manchester United's Europa League clash at Old Trafford on Thursday is set to go ahead after the latest Met Office update.

The Met Office reported via their website on 21 October that there are no weather warnings in place for the UK as of Tuesday evening, as the Light Blues prepare to make the trip south to Manchester.

Yellow warnings for wind are in place for most of the British Isles on Friday, but with Thursday's match currently set to be given the green light, any fears of a potential postponement will be waylaid.

Although there could still be blustery conditions at Old Trafford – given a yellow warning for wind comes into effect just hours after full-time – the Gers will hardly be affected by the conditions come Thursday.

It's rarer and rarer that Scottish sides make the trip over the border in European competition these days, making the Gers and their travelling supporters no strangers to matches played in inclement weather.

It's rare that Thursday's hosts will have played in front of open stands or at tightly-packed grounds such as Dens Park, potentially giving Gers the advantage when it comes to dealing with the conditions.

Facing a Manchester United side in one of their lowest ebbs of the modern era, Philippe Clement's men will be looking to use any windy conditions to their advantage against their low-on-confidence hosts.

There's no doubting that the Red Devils are there to be got at – a new phenomenon for the Bears – and as a result, Clement's side will be full of confidence that they can continue their strong continental form.
