Kris Boyd shares Rangers goal-difference worry Danny Rohl must fix in title race

Kris Boyd has urged Rangers to improve their goal difference in the William Hill Premiership.

The former Gers forward believes Danny Rohl had an opportunity to put St Mirren to the sword in Paisley on 15 March, but the Govan side managed just a 1-0 victory.

As things stand, the Light Blues are three points behind Hearts and one behind Celtic, with the three teams on relatively similar goal difference.

Youssef Chermiti and Ryan Naderi struggled to make much of an impact at the SMiSA Stadium, something the German manager surely needs to resolve to have the best chance of winning the league title.

Danny Rohl can turn back on Rangers tactic in William Hill Premiership

With eight games to go in the William Hill Premiership and the top-six split on the horizon, Rohl may want to go back on his decision to start Chermiti and Naderi together at the Gers.

The former Hansa Rostock striker seemed to bring out the best in the Portuguese centre-forward against Hearts and Celtic in the league, but it hasn't worked in recent matches.

It wouldn't be surprising to see the German manager go back to playing just one number nine, with someone like Thelo Aasgaard in behind.

The Sheffield Wednesday boss is yet to find his best starting eleven at the Light Blues, which should be concerning for fans.

Rohl can't get things wrong in the final stretch of the season and Boyd is right to have concerns about the Glaswegian outfit's attack.

Speaking on Go Ballistic on 16 March, the Scot said, "Yesterday was an opportunity. I think Hearts are on plus-27, Celtic are on plus-24. Rangers have plus-27 now. Rangers should quite easily have been sitting at least at plus-29 or plus-30 if they had gone and killed that game off. They didn't. They've not got these goals in the bag either. It would be a worry for me."

Who can Danny Rohl rely on at Ibrox?

Chermiti has been unreliable at Rangers, Naderi has failed to score in the league so far, and Bojan Miovski doesn't seem to be trusted by Rohl.

The one player who can surely be a game-changer for the Gers up front is Mikey Moore, arguably their best player this season.

With the Tottenham loanee pulling the strings in the final third, the Light Blues can be confident about breaking down defences.

Rohl should build his game plan around the 18-year-old Englishman to give the Glaswegian outfit the best possible chance of success.
