Kris Boyd seeks clarification from Simon Thomas live on Sky as he revels in Rangers goal rush
Kris Boyd was every Rangers fan as he revelled in Saturday's routine victory over Kilmarnock.
Rangers returned to action after the three-week international break in style as the eased to a 3-1 win at Ibrox.
Ryan Naderi put Rangers on their way in the 15th minute after great play from James Penrice and Kevin Kelsy added a second not long after.
A second for Naderi and third for Rangers followed before half-time, with Nicky Clescenco scoring what proved to be a late consolation for Killie.
The win notably takes Rangers top of the Scottish Premiership, one point above Celtic ahead of their trip to Motherwell on Sunday.
It was that detail that Boyd loved when appearing live on Sky Sports' Soccer Special on Saturday.
Kris Boyd is every Rangers fans as Derek McInnes' side go top
Rangers' form shows no signs of slowing down, even if the three-week hiatus threatened to do exactly that.
That is now seven wins in a row for Derek McInnes' side in all competitions, with the campaign going from a write-off to what could be a very special one indeed.
When news of Rangers' third goal in quickfire time came through on Soccer Special, Boyd was quick to tease host Simon Thomas as he asked for clarification.
After it was mentioned Rangers are top of the table, Boyd butted in: "They're what?"
After Thomas initially fell for that, Boyd jumped in with: "I was just checking. Just checking."
Rangers may only be top until Sunday afternoon, but McInnes' side will surely now consider themselves favourites for the title.
Rangers 3-1 Kilmarnock stats in full
Rangers were comfortable winners in terms of the scoreline, yet they were never at their best and Killie also had their moments.
Still, there was no doubt who deserved the three points come full-time.
Rangers had 18 shots to Killie's 13 - that after pretty much being able to play in first gear for the second half, remember - with four and six on target respectively.
McInnes' side had 60 per cent of possession and registered 506 passes to their opponents' 333.
That is another game ticked off for Rangers; now all eyes are over to Celtic.
