James Penrice shares 'ridiculous' thing he's noticed behind the scenes at Rangers
James Penrice has been one of Rangers' early successes from their 2026-27 summer window.
The left-back arrived from AEK Athens on loan, with an option to buy, and has taken to Ibrox immediately.
Penrice's services were called on quite quickly, with Tuur Rommemns picking up an early injury this season.
And the Belgian faces healthy and tough competition in order to make the left-back position his own once more.
However, the left fullback role is not the only spot where the Bears have a swathe of quality.
With Penrice sharing in a new interview what he has discovered in G51 so far.
James Penrice blown away at Rangers in opening months
Derek McInnes has built a talented Rangers squad, and his players are noticing that.
Penrice has been particularly impressed by what he has seen during his opening months at Ibrox, highlighting the depth of talent across the team.
With the Scotsman left in awe of his teammates at Auchenhowie.
Speaking to the Daily Record, Penrice said: "Ultimately, we’ll never know (if we have the mentality to win a title) until we go and do it.
"But we’re littered with talent. The talent in here is ridiculous. In every position, we have players who can go and make a Rangers jersey their own
"And that’s what you need to drive standards. But at the same time, we need to go and win difficult games."
As Penrice says, Rangers will now need to go and make the most of their talent, proving they can handle those big moments.
The summer loanee has lived up to that on a personal note, as he produced two standout displays against Old Firm rivals Celtic back in September.
Could complacency be Rangers' real issue?
While winning the big games are key for momentum and confidence, the so-called smaller fixtures come far more frequently.
This season, the Bears have already slipped up on a few occasions against those perceived lesser sides.
On the opening weekend of the season, Rangers drew to current sixth-place side Dundee United.
The following weekend, they lost to bottom-placed side Hibernian at Ibrox.
And in the fixtures just gone, they dropped two points to Dundee FC, far from an ideal result.
All three of those games are fixtures that should have produced three points.
While "big games" are important, the rest of the league fixtures all offer the same number of points, providing equal value to securing wins.
Particularly, with title rivals Celtic winning all but one of their league games so far.
