James Bisgrove is set to join up with Al Qadsiah following his departure from Rangers, according to the Scottish Daily Mail.

The newspaper's print edition revealed Bisgrove's new club on Friday (page 67, 31 May).

Al Qadsiah have been promoted to the Saudi Pro League ahead of next season after winning Division One.

It was announced on Thursday (30 May) that Bisgrove would be leaving Rangers after five years at Ibrox.

Once the club had confirmed that Bisgrove had accepted a role in the Middle East, most supporters would have assumed his new club to be one of the Saudi Pro League's top teams.

The fact that Bisgrove has accepted a role with a newly promoted side might come as quite a shock.

It also represents a problem, as lower-league teams in Saudi Arabia are now able to poach staff from the Gers.

What does that say about the club's ability to compete in European football?

Bisgrove's departure was already enough of a surprise and body blow as it was.

And his revealed destination has only added insult to injury.

A major overhaul is needed on the pitch at Ibrox this summer.

And it now looks to be needed at boardroom level too.

This will only make things more difficult and increase pressure on the club as they look to continue transforming Philippe Clement's squad in Glasgow.
