Jack Butland was hailed a "class act" after footage emerged of the Rangers goalkeeper giving his gloves to a couple of supporters.

Gers fans made the trip to Dens Park for Sunday's (17 March) Scottish Premiership clash with Dundee, which was ultimately called off.

Referee Don Robertson deemed the pitch was unplayable in places due to heavy rain overnight, but many had already arrived at the ground.

Butland did his part to thank those who made the trip, with footage shared on X by Tuesday Ritchie [17 March].

"Class act from Jack Butland as always," the video was captioned, along with a blue love heart emoji.

Rangers goalkeeper Jack Butland an instant hit at Ibrox

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Butland has been a fan favourite pretty much since the moment he arrived at Ibrox last summer.

Not only has he been superb on the pitch, he has also gone out of his way with various fan gestures off the pitch.

Those who made the 90-minute journey from Glasgow to Dundee would have been left massively disappointed by the postponement call.

The fact it came pretty much out of the blue, and so late on, only made the decision all the more infuriating.

Manager Philippe Clement was not impressed and rightly so. It is the fourth game at Dens Park that has been rained off this season alone.

Full credit to those who made the journey and hopefully each of those will be able to make the rearranged fixture whenever that may be.
