Barry Ferguson is seemingly baffled by the managerial changes at Rangers and Celtic just a few months into the 2025-26 season.

Danny Rohl replaced Russell Martin at Ibrox, with the former Southampton boss enduring an abysmal record at the Gers with a 29 per cent win rate.

On the other side of Glasgow, Brendan Rodgers surprisingly resigned at Parkhead, with the Hoops going through their own struggles.

Martin O'Neill has now taken interim charge at Celtic, with the William Hill Premiership serving a "crazy" few months.

Barry Ferguson is all of us as Rangers trail Hearts

Ferguson also can't believe Hearts are leading the William Hill Premiership, sitting nine points ahead of second-place Celtic.

As for the Gers, they have to make up a 14-point gap at Ibrox if they hope to catch up to Derek McInnes' team in the league table.

The Light Blues' former interim manager has admitted Scottish football can be "mad" at times, and that's certainly been the case recently.

Speaking on the Go Radio Football Show on 7 November, Ferguson said: "It's been a crazy… Scottish football is mad at times. If you would've said in February I was going to go back as interim manager, then Martin comes in and he gets dismissed after 123 days, Rodgers, nobody saw him resigning, O'Neill comes back in. That's why you love the game up here."

The Gers icon added: "Another one I forgot to say, Hearts at the top of the league."

Roma handed Rohl a reality check on 6 November, and the German manager knows the Glaswegian outfit have a long way to go after losing 2-0 at home in the Europa League to the Serie A giants.

Tony Bloom has shown Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises how things are done

Andrew Cavenagh and Paraag Marathe should take lessons from Tony Bloom, who has arguably revolutionised Hearts after securing a 25 per cent stake in the club recently.

Rangers have undoubtedly gotten worse since the American takeover was completed at the end of May, and they need to make changes sooner rather than later.

Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises are ultimately responsible for how things have panned out in G51, with Martin's appointment an abject failure.

It doesn't look like the problems at Ibrox have a quick fix, and it remains to be seen whether the US consortium have the wherewithal to find a solution.
