Hamza Igamane has been dropped as Philippe Clement named his Rangers starting XI to face Fraserburgh in the Scottish Cup.

The Gers announced their lineup via their official X account (19 January) to take on the Broch at Ibrox with Igamane one of six changes made by the Belgian from their 3-0 victory over Aberdeen on 15 January.

Alongside Igamane, Liam Kelly, Vaclav Cerny, Danilo, Ianis Hagi and Ridvan Yilmaz have also been omitted from Clement's starting line-up with the 50-year-old still trying to patch a team together with all the injuries they've recently suffered.

In their place come Mason Munn, James Tavernier, Nedim Bajrami, Ross McCausland, Zak Lovelace and Cyriel Dessers with Clement mixing things up for a tie they really ought to coast through.

Rangers should have too much quality for Fraserburgh

While the 2024/25 season has been far from ideal for Rangers and their fans this season, it feels like they should be able to put in a decent performance against the Broch.

They managed to make it all the way to the Scottish League Cup final where they eventually lost on penalties to their arch-rivals but in the run-up to the final against Celtic, they put on some impressive performances.

The Scottish Premiership title is almost certainly out of the question in terms of what Clement and his men can achieve this season but if they could end the season with the Scottish Cup and perhaps a decent run into the latter stages of the Europa League, all hope wouldn't be lost for next season.

At the moment, it's unclear how the rest of the season is going to pan out for Clement's men but if they can bring in some more new faces, they could have a decent chance of leaving the season with a trophy to add to their cabinet.
