Andrew Cavenagh and Paraag Marathe are nearing their Russell Martin replacement at Rangers.

There have been many names in the queue for the Rangers job, but now everything is becoming a little clearer.

It now appears that Gerrard will commence talks with Rangers officials in the coming days as his re-appointment nears.

Gers fans will be delighted to hear what former favourite Ryan Jack has said on Gerrard.

Ex-Rangers star Ryan Jack claims Steven Gerrard will bring 'togetherness' to Ibrox

Midfielder Jack is fondly remembered by Gers fans for his contribution to the club during his seven-season stay.

He played a big part in Gerrard's title-winning season in the 2020-21 campaign, as the Scot wore the armband for the Bears on occassions.

  • Ryan Jack played 210 times for Rangers
  • He scored 16 goals
  • Jack helped Rangers to two trophies

Now, speaking to Sky Sports Scotland ahead of Gerrard's potential return, Jack has further added to the excitement over the latest developments.

"If the club can convince [Gerrard] to come back, he can go in and get a hold of the changing room, the staff, the fans, and get everyone right behind the club. I think it would be a great appointment," said Jack.

"One thing with the Rangers support is they'll never give up supporting and hoping, dreaming they can win titles.

"I'm sure if he goes in, I know Stevie personally, and he'll have that belief he can really go in there, turn things around and win trophies for the club again."

With Gerrard's appointment seeming likely, at this point in the season, what could he still achieve.

Gerrard could still help Rangers to trophies this season

Assuming that Rangers do re-appoint Gerrard, despite his affination with the Gers, he still has a massive job to do.

Rangers are still in the Premier Sports Cup and face Celtic next in the Semi-finals. The opportunity of winning an Old Firm derby to put Rangers in the final of a cup will be something that Gerrard will certainly be licking his lips at.

The Bears have got off to a terrible start in the Europa League after Martin failed to achieve Champions League qualification, however Gerrard still has what it takes to take the Gers all the way.

Exciting times are ahead for Rangers fans, as Gerrard's re-appointment could be announced very soon.
